At The Leadership Program, we've been honored and blessed to work with students all across New York City and beyond for more than 25 years. And sometimes, those students turn into our employees.

The 19th annual Lights on Afterschool, the only national celebration of afterschool programs, takes place on October 25.

Across the nation, afterschool programs provide opportunities for young people to explore their interests and learn new skills. Afterschool programs are uniquely positioned to offer education and opportunity through hands-on, minds-on learning—without the pressures that sometimes accompany the school day.

Mark your calendars: October 26, 2017, is the 18th annual Lights On Afterschool. Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in keeping kids safe, inspiring them to learn and helping working families.

One million Americans will come together at 8,000 events on Thursday, October 20, to celebrate the 17th annual Lights On Afterschool. Registration is now open. Join in to shine a light on the impact your program is making!

Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year.
