NAA President Gina Warner was amongst sixty military, business, and civic leaders from across the United States who recently met at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, during the inaugural event of the Presidential Leadership Scholars, to study decisions made by the nation's forty-third president while in office.

Gina Warner, President and CEO of The National AfterSchool Association (NAA), has been selected to be a member of the inaugural class of Presidential Leadership Scholars, a unique leadership development initiative that draws upon the resources of the U.S. presidential centers of Lyndon B. Johnson, George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, and George W. Bush. These presidential centers have partnered to bring together a select group of leaders who have the desire and capacity to take their leadership strengths to a higher level in order to help their communities and our country.
The National Afterschool Association (NAA) has been awarded funding from the Noyce Foundation to develop the first-ever afterschool STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) credential. The investment centerpiece -- a STEM-related micro-credential and digital badge series -- offered by NAA and developed with Click2SciencePD, will serve as a validated, industry-wide indicator that afterschool staff have the requisite competencies to facilitate STEM learning across a variety of settings.

Cornell McClellan is a member of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition, and a fitness consultant and personal trainer to the First Family. He is also the owner of Naturally Fit, a training and wellness company in Chicago.
December's National Computer Science Week and Hour of Code brought a variety of coding-related activities into classrooms and afterschool programs around the country.
Heidi Ham recently joined NAA as Vice President of Programs and Strategy. She will work closely with NAA Executive Director Gina Warner to lead the execution and development of NAA strategy to advance current work and to create and support new opportunities specifically focused on quality improvement, advancing professionalism, and strengthening state and local alliances.
