LGBTQ+ Equity in The Workplace

The National AfterSchool Association supports the development and workplace safety of afterschool professionals who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.

A study conducted by the Building Movement Project showed that 20% of staff who identify as LGBTQ+ feel bias against their sexual orientation has impacted their career advancement. Research by the National Center for Transgender Equality indicates that 25% of transgender people have lost a job due to bias, and more than 75% have experienced some form of workplace discrimination.
