The following Advocate member partners of NAA offer a variety of products, programs, curriculum, and technology tools specifically designed with afterschool programs and professionals in mind.
Mentoring Central provides affordable, research-informed and evidenced-based products for youth mentoring programs and positive youth development organizations. Our resources include Building the Foundation, a web-based, evidence-based training for mentors that helps prepare volunteers to be an effective mentor to a young person. Other mentor training courses include Ethics and Safety and Building and Maintaining the Relationship. Our advanced mentor training course, Promoting Enhanced Resilience and Learning, trains mentors in how to support goal-setting, growth mindset, and school engagement in mentees through the mentoring relationship.
Mentoring Central’s resources go beyond online mentor training. There are also in-person training curricula, as well as training for mentees and their parents or guardians to help get everyone on the same page to begin the mentoring experience.
All the resources and products available through Mentoring Central are developed by researchers and experts in the field of mentoring. If you are looking for tools and expertise to help you evaluate your program, we can help with that as well. The Elements Quality Improvement Process (EQUIP) program assessment measures your program against the national standards for mentoring programs. Whether you are just getting your mentoring program started or you have been doing mentoring for a long time, Mentoring Central has the tools and resources to help measure and improve the quality of your program.
