NAA Quality Conversations

Each day, over 10 million children participate in afterschool programs. Working parents rely on these programs to keep their children learning, growing and safe during the gap hours—after the school day ends, but before parents come home from work. Parents also rely on these afterschool programs to be staffed and run by professionals who have training and expertise in working with children and youth. In a series of podcasts, NAA Executive Director Gina Warner will speak to researchers, experts, practitioners and funders about afterschool quality—what it is, how to achieve it and why its imperative.

Why Leaders Need to Ask for Help - And How

Here’s a simple trick for resource-constrained organizations and programs that want to get more done more effectively:

Webinar: Using Data and Systems to Measure and Improve Youth Progress

ExponentWebinar WebHeader1

October 18, 1:00 EST | Presented by Exponent Partners

ExponentPartners forWeb

WATCH RECORDING

Afterschool organizations are increasingly finding that tracking and managing data is crucial to improving programs, increasing organizational efficiency, and ensuring fidelity to your program model. Funders also are increasingly asking for proof, based on results and outcomes, that your work is making an impact. These complex data requirements necessitate processes and systems that help your staff collect and analyze data without taking them away from their work with youth for too long.

Whether you are just getting started tracking data about your programs or looking to put a system in place, this webinar will cover how to formalize your processes for tracking data, use systems to analyze that data, and incorporate learnings into your programs. We’ll also hear a case study from Urban Initiatives about their data journey.

About Exponent Partners

Exponent Partners builds technology that enables education and human services organizations to measure results and drive more impact. For over 10 years, we’ve developed solutions in partnership with Salesforce.org for student data tracking, case management, youth outcomes, volunteer management, and general CRM. We focus on whole organization systems that not only help nonprofits manage programs, but also performance across fundraising, communications, and other organizational processes. As a B Corp and a Benefit Corporation, we are dedicated to our mission to make the social sector more effective.

Webinar: Effective Budgeting for Your Afterschool Program

Thursday, September 29, 1:00 EST | Presented by FMA

FMA Logo-Web

Effective budgeting is one of the key ways to ensure that your afterschool program is using your resources in the most strategic way and that your organization is financially sustainable into the future.

This webinar will:

  • Describe a budgeting process that enlists input from across your organization
  • Highlight tools that can be used by program staff and senior leaders to develop budgets in a (relatively) painless way.
  • Demonstrate tools from StrongNonprofits.org, a web site developed by FMA in partnership with the Wallace Foundation to bring free resources for more effective financial management to after-school providers and the broader nonprofit sector.

This webinar is for Executive-level members only.

Registration is now closed.
